The 1940s Jeweller: Donald Simpson Jewellery

Donald Simpson was a prominent Australian jeweler whose work in the mid-20th century significantly influenced the country's costume jewelry scene. In 1947, he established Simpson Jewellery in Sydney, where he personally designed pieces under the labels "Simpson" and "Simpson Jewellery," often marked as "SIMPSON" or "Simpson Original."

Simpson expanded his creative ventures by introducing the "JewelCrest" line, renowned for its intricate designs and quality craftsmanship. Collectors and vintage jewellery enthusiasts highly seek after JewelCrest pieces today.

Throughout his career, Simpson's creations were distinguished by their elegant designs and meticulous attention to detail, solidifying his reputation as a leading figure in Australian jewelry design.

Luckily our buying team at Vintage Amara were able to source one of his iconic rare brooches from the 1940s. (Linked below).
